We have three computers in our home office and it is nearly impossible to keep them dust free. But in order for them to run efficiently it’s important that they don’t collect too much dust.
An inexpensive way to clean your keyboard, mice and other electronic equipment is Cyber Clean.

The first thing I thought of when I took Cyber Clean out of it’s packaging was “Flubber”. Instead of green it’s bright yellow, but just as malleable and squishy. The concept is simple, press it on to what electronic you want to clean and lift off. As it molds to the contours of the object, it lifts the grime, dust and bacteria off and leaves no residue. Patented Cyber Clean has a one way dirt microencapsulation effect. Dirt and dust go in but never escape. Besides computer keyboards it works on cell phones and mobile devices too.

Cyber Clean after having cleaned a computer keyboard. You can see the dust and dirt embedded in the compound.
I didn’t overly care for the scent of it, which reminded me of isopropyl alcohol. I used it on the keyboards in our office and while they didn’t come out completely clean, I wasn’t disappointed with the job it did do. I figure it’s a quick and easy way to get much of the dirt and germs off, even if it’s not all of them.
You can visit http://www.cyberclean.tv to see all the products in their home & office and automotive line.
This post was written for Cyber Clean who provided the complimentary item in exchange for my honest review.

CEA Line Shows: Introducing CyberClean electronics cleaning compound

Welcome Back to the Cyberclean Blog!

by Sue Walsh on Jun 23, 2010 at 10:40 PM

We all do it-eat while we’re on our computers, resulting in a grimy keyboard. The tiny spaces between the keys collect that debris along with all kinds of other drirt At best it’s just icky, at worst in can result in sticky keys and keyboard failures.  Cleaning a keyboard however has always been a challenge. I’ve read cleaning advice that instructed the user to turn the keyboard over and tap it on the table. Not really a good idea for those of us with laptops.  Some say to use a can of compressed air, but if not used properly it can cause serious damage. The makers of CyberClean believe they have a better way. At first glance it looks like a jar of the slime kids love to play with but this stuff is actually useful. To use just knead in your hands for a few seconds (unless you’re sweaty it won’t feel like slime) and then press it on your keyboard and lift. The special compound gets between the keys, clings to the keyboard and lifts up the dirt. Roll into a ball with the dirt inward and it can be used over and over. (A color change indicator on each package will let you know when it’s time to toss). It can also be used to clean the vents on your CPU, the heat and A/C vents in your car and more. I watched a demo and was impressed. Stay tuned for a full review coming soon.

Gamers: Use Cyber Clean to clean your miniatures!

Gamers: Use Cyber Clean to clean your miniatures!

About a month or so back, I was nosing around the electronics area of the book store and came across this display for a product called “Cyber Clean”,

complete with a really annoying video that repeated itself over and over again.

My first thought was that the stuff looked exactly like the slime that kids have hours of fun with

(you know, like The Masters of the Universe Slime Pit, The Harry Potter Slime Chamber, Jabba Glob, Real Ghostbusters Ecto-Plazm, and Gak).

A packet of it was pretty cheap, and I figured that if it gave a grown man a chance to play with slime – what the hell? I bought one.

Once I got it home, I put it in “The Chamber of Secrets” (aka my wife’s nickname for the little area we keep all of the cleaning products and pet supplies)

and sort of forgot about it until yesterday, when I thought I would give it a shot cleaning off the laptops, my keyboard, and the assorted remotes.

Seriously… this stuff is awesome.

It is marketed as:
…the only cleaning compound that can reach inside all of those difficult to reach places and remove all those nasty and harmful things while cleaning on contact.

All you have to do is press and pull. No rubbing required! Cyber Clean® will leave all the surfaces clean and fresh smelling!

… and you know what? It lives up to every single expectation I had.

My nasty Xbox 360 controller (you know how game controllers get in the grooves – filled with dead skin and dirt from you hands)

came out looking (and smelling) like new, as did the keyboards, computer mouse, and remote controls.

But this isn’t a house-cleaning site. Here’s where it will really come in handy for gamers:

On a whim, I decided to see what it would do to some of the dusty miniatures that I had standing out.

Every gamer has them – from minis that you don’t have room for in a transport case or box – to those that you have standing out as references or display pieces.

I’ve tried a lot of different things to keep my minis clean, but dust will get back on them sooner than later, and it can really dull the nice paint jobs.

For this test, I tried out Cyber Clean on:
Unpainted plastic
Painted plastic
Painted / varnished plastic
Unpainted metal
Painted metal
Painted / varnished metal
On every single type of miniature I used Cyber Clean on, it removed all of the dust (and it even takes of finger grease / bug excrement / pet dander)

without doing one bit of damage to the miniatures themselves.

The compound itself is so malleable that you can flatten it, put the mini inside, ball up the Cyber Clean around it, open it up – and

the figure is clean. No residue, no problems.

I even applied it to a few types of flocking materials (sand and grass) on miniature bases and had no problems whatsoever with any of the flock coming off.

At about $5 US for a 2.65 oz. packet, it will allegedly give you about 50 heavy repeated uses – so in essence you could clean thousands and thousands of miniatures

if you wanted to. So for miniature gamers, a mere $5 investment for something this useful seems to be a naturally smart decision.

Go try it out!

ECRM School & Office Event Registration Auction Raises $40,000 for the Kids In Need Foundation Manufacturer Pays More Than Double the Standard Fee to Attend ECRM’s School & Office Event and Support a Charitable Organization

ECRM School & Office Event Registration Auction Raises $40,000 for the Kids In Need Foundation Manufacturer Pays More Than Double the Standard Fee to Attend ECRM’s School & Office Event and Support a Charitable Organization

(live-PR.com) – CLEVELAND, OH — (Marketwire) — 06/07/10 — For the second year in a row, ECRM auctioned off the last School & Office event registration on eBay to benefit the Kids In Need Foundation. With bidding beginning at $16,950, the cost of a full planning session, one manufacturer was willing to bid $40,000 to attend the industry’s largest school and office event.

The winning bid was made by Cyber Clean, a manufacturer of a unique cleaning solution for non-mechanical cleaning. “This auction enabled us to take advantage of an excellent business opportunity and benefit a superior cause,” explained Alan Sutton, president of Cyber Clean. “ECRM has always provided an efficient platform for us to meet with so many retailers in a condensed time period. For Cyber Clean, it is completely worth the $40,000 donation.”

Interested manufacturers had the opportunity to place their bids from Wednesday, May 26th to Wednesday, June 2nd. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the winning bid will be donated to the Kids In Need Foundation, a non-profit organization with the mission to ensure that every child is prepared to learn and succeed by providing free school supplies nationally to students most in need. The Kids In Need National Network of Resource Centers includes 24 facilities that allow teachers from low-income schools to obtain free school supplies for their students.

Sutton elaborated on how ECRM’s events differ from typical trade shows, “ECRM represents a totally unique forum to have one-on-one time with key retailers in the marketplace. Other shows can cost more money in the long run and can be inefficient in terms of meeting key contacts.”

While many trade organizations have experienced declined attendance numbers in recent years, ECRM’s overall attendance increased twenty five percent in 2009, which contributed to the thirty percent total increase since 2008.

“ECRM is not only a great format for the attendees, but the design of it means the Kids In Need Foundation can attend and speak with the major players in the industry that established our Foundation. Because of our mission, Kids In Need knows what role having school supplies plays in the success of children in the classroom. We can remind the attendees how important their business is to the futures of these children. Attending ECRM is an investment in the future of each attendee’s business. The same can be said of donating to Kids In Need. The children who experience success now are more likely to become responsible, employable, self-supporting residents of their communities,” said Dave Smith, executive director of the Kids In Need Foundation.

Charlie Bowlus, CEO and founder of ECRM, commented on the company’s partnership with the Kids In Need Foundation, “Kids In Need is an amazing organization that we have been involved with for several years. We saw this as an excellent opportunity to raise funds and awareness for the organization. We stand behind their mission and will continue to promote their cause.”

ECRM’s School and Office show is scheduled for September 12-16 in Atlanta, Georgia. For more information, please visit www.ECRM.MarketGate.com : http://www.ECRM.MarketGate.com . For more information on Cyber Clean, please visit www.cyberclean.tv : http://www.cyberclean.tv .

Cyber Clean: High-Tech Gunk Remover
Putty compound can also remove dirt and dust from your keyboard

Today’s “Now I’ve seen everything” product is the Cyber Clean Automotive High-Tech cleaning compound.

This “high-tech, non-toxic, biodegradable cleaning compound” is a one-pieced, putty-like membrane that lets you get into all the crevices and hard-to-reach areas to get rid of dirt, dust and other materials that exist in your car’s air vents and other locations. It also offers a fresh minty scent.

The company says the compound can be used more than 50 times through its “one-way micro-encapsulation effect.” Dirt and dust collected will not “migrate back out to your hands or other areas.” I’m not sure where the dirt and dust goes, it looks like it just gets trapped in this giant blob.

More details here.
